Hacker

“This is the end of everyone’s privacy as we know it.”

A recent 60 Minutes Australia exposé showed how easy it is to hack anyone’s smartphone… from anywhere in the world.

The TV crew filmed hackers in Germany as they completed an effortless hack of a senator’s phone back in Australia.

It’s easy. A hacker sets up a simple $300 device. Your phone thinks that device is the closest cellphone tower. And just like that, you’re routing your every communication—every call, every text, every location, everything—past someone else’s prying eyes.

Think about the sensitive information you transmit over the phone to access things like your bank account: your name, date of birth, Social Security number… the list goes on.

With this hacking device around, you might as well yell your personal details to strangers in the street (or to the government… its secret version of this device is called a “Stingray”).

When you’re done watching, consider downloading Signal. It’s a free, encrypted messaging/video/phone application for Apple iOS (there’s no Android version yet).

If your communications get routed through a bad actor, at least they’ll be encrypted…
