From Tim T.: Can I unsubscribe from just the Saturday Daily? The concentrated “clickbait” content is too much.

These quotes are from last Saturday’s issue alone:

“The welfare state is doomed to failure”…

“A financial epidemic has begun… it’s even more dangerous”…

“…it’s led pension funds to make the most dangerous investment decision possible today”…

“The way you buy everything is about to drastically change”…

“…throw the world back into the Stone Age”…

“…major bloodbath about to take place”…

“… the health of the world economy… and it’s turning ugly fast.”

I understand copywriters have to play on emotion to drive a response, but this much fearmongering in a single email is ridiculous. It makes you look less credible. You’re better than this.

Reeves’ Comment: Thanks for your feedback, Tim. It’s interesting… only two of the phrases you singled out come from sales promotions. All the rest link to editorial content written by intelligent people whose views we find compelling…

[Pro Tip: You can quickly tell if an item links to promotional or editorial content by noticing the icon at the beginning of the content. A “$” means the content is promotional. A “” means the content is editorial.]

There’s an age-old publishing maxim: “If it bleeds, it leads.” The human psyche is conditioned to pay extra attention to issues which may harm us. Publishers can—and do—abuse this.

If we have done that here, we apologize. But what if the smartest minds we know all happen to share grave outlooks at a given time (as they do now)? Should we coddle you and censor this… or spread their warnings to as many people as we can?

We believe it’s not our place to patronize you. Our job is to relay the most important ideas in wealth creation and protection out there. Yours is to decide how best—or how not—to use them.

(That said, our ultimate goal is to let you tailor every aspect of your PBRG experience—allowing you to select only the content you want to receive… and nothing you don’t. Your suggestion is on our “to do” list. Stay tuned…)
